Privacy Policy
Effective July 14, 2026
TruePhoto is built to keep your photo on your phone. This policy describes exactly what leaves your device, why, and what happens to it.
What we process, and where
- On your device: camera capture, face measurements, background replacement, light correction, cropping, print layouts, and your order history all happen locally on your iPhone. Your original photos never leave your device.
- One compliance check: a single downscaled (600 px) copy of your processed photo is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our compliance server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to evaluate the 12 visual rules (lighting, expression, glasses, background quality, and similar). The verdict is returned and the image is discarded immediately. We do not store, log, or retain your photo on any server.
- Purchases: payment is processed entirely by Apple. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple ID.
What we do NOT do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no trackers.
- No selling, sharing, or retaining of biometric or photo data.
- No use of your photos to train AI models.
Data retention
Your finished photos, print sheets and compliance reports are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting an order in the app, or deleting the app, permanently removes them. Server-side, photos exist only for the seconds required to evaluate the compliance rules.
Third parties
The compliance check uses Google's Gemini API as a processor, receiving only the downscaled photo (no name, identifier, or metadata). Local notifications (the 6-month expiry reminder) are scheduled by iOS on your device and never touch a server.
Children
TruePhoto includes a mode for photographing infants for their own passports, operated by a parent or guardian. The same zero-retention processing applies.
